Tiling Tips
- Size Matters
It is almost impossible to use large tiles on uneven walls. Small tiles are much more suitable. Large tiles tend to provide a much better effect in large rooms. Smaller tiles give a much better overall effect in smaller rooms.
- Borders & Patterns
When choosing borders and patterns be careful not to overdo it. Your room may look cluttered once all your belongings and gadgets are put back in place.
- Preparation
Ceramic Tiling is designed to last, as long as it's done properly. Correct preparation is critical and surfaces should be re-plastered where necessary.
- Appliances
If you are having your kitchen floor tiled, do tile underneath all of your appliances, it makes life much easier not having to lift them over a lip when moving them.
- Can you tile over existing tiles ?
It can be done as long as the existing tiles are solidly fixed.
- Can you tile a wooden floor ?
Provided floor surfaces are first be overboarded with ply, and screwed down every 6 inches. Flexible adhesive and grout must be used.
- Can you tile kitchen worktops ?
Yes. Tiles should be fixed using flexible adhesive, and worktops should be grouted with Epoxy Resin grout.
